Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

This policy explains how Steam Workshop Downloader handles information when you use this website and its Workshop lookup tool.

Information processed to provide the tool

When you submit a Workshop URL or Published File ID, we process that input to look up the item with Steam. We also process limited technical request information, such as an IP address, to operate basic rate limiting and protect the service from abuse.

Files and Steam data

This site does not host, proxy, cache, unpack, or redistribute Workshop files. When Steam provides an eligible direct link, your browser opens that link from Steam's CDN. Steam's own privacy practices apply to its services and infrastructure.

Accounts, payments, and analytics

The service does not offer accounts, payments, or advertising scripts. We load Google Analytics only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the privacy panel. If you reject analytics or have not made a choice, the site does not load the Google Analytics tag. When enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregated use of the website, such as page visits, game-page lookup submissions, and official Workshop link clicks. Those game-page events include only a page slug and content category; they do not include a Workshop URL, Published File ID, or Steam credentials. Google may use cookies or similar technologies and process technical information such as IP address, browser information, and usage data under its own Privacy Policy. We do not ask you to provide a Steam password, account credentials, or payment details to use the lookup tool.

Manage analytics cookies

You can review or change your analytics choice at any time. Opening the panel does not enable analytics by itself.

Advertising

We do not currently show advertising. Before enabling advertising products such as Google AdSense, we will update this policy and provide the notices and consent controls required for the regions where advertising is shown.

Service providers and legal requests

Infrastructure providers may process technical information needed to deliver and secure this website. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law or to protect the security and integrity of the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above indicates the latest revision.
