Frequently asked questions

Workshop lookup answers

The tool reports the direct download availability Steam actually returns for a single Workshop item.

Is this tool free to use?

Yes. The local MVP does not require an account, payment, or subscription to check one Workshop item.

Does every Steam Workshop item have a download link?

No. Some items, games, permissions, or item states do not return a usable direct URL. A button appears only when Steam returns a validated direct link.

Does this site host or scan Workshop files?

No. This site does not proxy, cache, store, unpack, scan, or redistribute Workshop files. When available, the direct link opens from Steam's CDN.

Why did my lookup fail or time out?

The item may be unavailable, the ID may be invalid, or Steam may be slow or unable to respond. Try again later and verify that you used an individual Workshop item URL or numeric ID.

Can I paste a collection URL or any download URL?

No. The first version accepts only one individual Steam Workshop item URL or Published File ID. It does not accept collections, batches, or arbitrary URLs.
